Team #2: ESL (English as a Second Language)
Grace Life Beach will be in Marbella, Guanacaste, from May 20 to May 27 as part of their annual community mission. This team will be primarily dedicated to supporting local children through English as a second language classes, as well as recreational activities, games, group activities, and arts and crafts in a safe, joyful, and educational environment.
In a coastal community like Marbella, where a large part of the local economy depends on tourism as well as foreign investment, learning English from an early age represents an extremely important tool for the future of local children and youth. Being able to communicate in English can open professional and employment opportunities in sectors such as hospitality, tourism, gastronomy, services, education, entrepreneurship, and many other fields connected to the region’s development.
In a context where gentrification and the rising cost of living represent real challenges for many coastal families in Costa Rica, providing early access to English learning helps strengthen opportunities for local youth to participate and integrate into the industries that are transforming their own communities.
